Correct way of using variables within FormatPriceMarker method?

Has the issue identified in this post for NT7 has been addressed in NT8: http://ninjatrader.com/support/forum/showthread.php?p=468836 ? It must be possible to add a plot and show/hide the actual plot markings (HLine, Line, Dot, etc) easily leaving the price marker unaffected without having to resort to adding two indicators just to achieve such a simple thing. Equally, one would also like to be able to add just a price marker without an associated plot.
