Custom Indicators holds on to bin\Customer references that were never used

    Hello -

I used some 3rd party DLLs in another indicator. I deleted that indicator then removed the DLLs from the \bin\Custom folder.

When I opened another indicator that I am writing that DOES NOT use the DLLs and attempt to compile, I get error messages showing references to those files cannot be found.

    This should not happen.

See the attached screenshot. I have also attached the log files and trace files from today.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hello Mark,

Manually removing dll files from the NinjaTrader folder in Documents is guaranteed to cause compile errors.

May I confirm you have used the proper method to remove an assembly in the Tools -> Remove NinjaScript Assembly... menu?

If you have not, you will need to manually remove the references as well to repair NinjaTrader.
Right-click the NinjaScript Editor, remove all dll references that have errors in the Editor window.

If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one unrelated indicator, it is because NinjaTrader always compiles all indicators and strategies - not just one. This is done to give you the highest runtime performance possible and to ensure that all dependencies are met for all scripts.
