Erratic chart updates - IB Futures live data feed in NT8B10

Hi, I am getting live data via TWS 955.4, but am experiencing issues with the charts not keeping updated with the live data. I often have to refresh all historical data, and sometimes it will keep updating, but sometimes (like today), not. Instruments Im using are CL 05-16 and NG 05-16.

Loading historical data is also extremely slow.

Also, Im getting an error :

IB was unable to locate instrument. Please verify your symbol mapping is correct for instrument CL ##-## Nymex

What is the symbol mapping for continuous contract in IB?

Any help appreciated!

Thank you for your post,

Unfortunately, IB does not support continuous data with NinjaTrader, so you will not be able to load data in charts for instruments that use the ##-## expiry.

The error message you received may be related to why the data stopped loading in the rest of the workspace. I suggest removing the continuous chart and restarting NinjaTrader. let me know if you still see the same after taking these steps.

I eventually found the problem with the continuous charts... as you mention above.

It seems to be working once I got rid of that chart.

Suffice it to say that the IB data feed sucks. No historical tick data, and throttling means the charts take forever to load! To be avoided like the plague.

Im stuck with it since I need the options on Futures data, which I cant get thru other providers, to my knowledge (unless someone can correct me).
