NT hangs on start up

    NT hangs on start up

    I just installed B10. I can not get NT8 to complete a start up. I have tried reboot between start up attempts. It hangs when charts show "loading", but Control Panel will still let me click on menu items for instance I tried - Connections - CQG_AMP - disconnect, and then it is hung also. After that, I must use Task Mgr to kill it. I presume you want me to send logs, but since NT is hung, how would I do that manually, since the menu item is not avail?

    Also, I tried pressing CNTL and keeping it pressed during the entire start up process from double clicking on the icon to start it, and NT8 B10 tried to start normally -> Connecting to CQG, open initial workspaces. -- What did I do wrong with this ?

    Hello John,

    Please close NinjaTrader through Windows Task Manager

    Then go to the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > workspaces folder

    Once in the workspaces folder select the _Workspaces file and rename to _Workspaces.old

    Then launch NinjaTrader

    Once launched, send your log and trace files

    You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> EMail Support.

    You can try to open your workspace by going to File > Workspace and selecting the workspace

      A 2nd start with CNTL did the same thing, attempted to open workspace, etc. Task Mgr, kill NT8, restart a 3rd time, this time CNTL started as it should. I was able to kill autostart connections close NT8 and restart it. Now it is working as expected. Connections work, Workspaces work, I have no idea what happened. If it happens again, I will capture the log files early so they will be usable. NT has been working for 2 days now.

        For possible future reference, you can also get Log and Trace files manually through -
        .....Documents/NinjaTrader 8/log
        .....Documents/NinjaTrader 8/trace

        And if you need to change the workspace file name so that it stops reopening the workspace causing the error, that can be done through that path also.
