NT8-Beta10 Draw.VerticalLine script stopped working with Beta-10

Hello,

I uploaded a small indicator that draws a vertical line at 12:00 am for each day on a chart.

I also uploaded a screen capture of a 15 min YM ##-## chart with the indicator loaded. The screen capture also lists all Draw Objects of the chart.

You can see the indicator draw objects are there. Object DOW182 is a vertical line at 03/20/2016 12:00:00 am.

Looking at the chart at the red arrow, the vertical line is not drawing on the chart.

This behavior was NOT happening with NT8-Beta9. It started happening with Beta10.

Can you please run the indicator on your side to recreate this problem.

I believe I am seeing the same thing. When I create a new chart and apply the indicator, no lines are drawn at all and there are no error messages in the log tab of the control center (meaning no run time errors reported). However if on that chart I change to a different instrument the lines are drawn. If I return to the original instrument the lines appear.

Can you confirm this also Lucius?

I just tried the same test as you and I am see that as well.

1. I loaded the indicator onto a 15 min YM ##-##, and got no lines.
2. I then toggled the instrument selection drop down to select NQ ##-## and the lines appeared.
3. I then toggled the instrument selection drop down to select back to YM ##-## and now the lines appear on YM ##-##.

I also tried another test that may shed some light onto the problem in Beta-10....

I copied the NT strategy SampleMACrossOver and created MySampleMACrossOv and then added "AddChartIndicator(AuDrawDOW(5));" to event OnStateChanged.

I compiled and ran MySampleMACrossOv using DebugMode, Strategy Analyzer and Visual Studio to trace the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error I received on the NT log.

Visual Studio traced the error to NT "@Lines.cs" module with an unhandled NullReferenceException.

I`ve uploaded a screen capture of the Visual Studio trace and NT Log in "DrawVertLine NullRefException Capture.zip".

I also uploaded an NT export of strategy MySampleMACrossOv used in the test in "DrawVertLineProblem.zip".

Can you please confirm the behavior on you side. This looks like a bug.

Thanks for your question.

We've confirmed this is a bug and have assigned it a tracking number of NT8-9581. It is currently being worked on. When it is fixed it will likely be in the next release of NinjaTrader8. You will be able to use the tracking number against the release notes to see that it is fixed/completed.
