When/How is the Data Series in the Analyzer Settings populated in a Strategy?

I have a Generic Strategy so I don't want to have any AddDataSeries explicit statements in my code. But I don't understand at what point when the Strategy is added to a chart, or more commonly, when used in a backtest the configured Dataseries gets assigned. In particular, when would this.Instrument, or this.TickSize be populated? They seem to be null in OnStateChanged state==Configured, do I need to wait for a state DataLoaded or Finalized?

The helpguide section for OnStateChange() does provide that for the state.dataLoaded which is: Use for logic that needs to access data related objects like Bars, Instruments, BarsPeriod, TradingHours.
