Disable printout "Ninjascript strategy ..... submitting order"

Is there any way to disable NT from printing the "Submitting order" message to the output window? It gets very cluttered when backtesting.

    The specific message is:
    "NinjaScript strategy 'mystrategy/67470879' submitting order

    Thanks in advance!

Is this with TraceOrders=True in your strategy? Meaning you get all orders or you get this just without and additional order tracing?

If you get it without TraceOrders=True in your code then I will take a look into since off the top of my head I don't expect that you get that by default.

      Hi Brett,

I dont set TraceOrders to true, but i also dont explicitly set it to false. i believe i have always gotten this printout on many different strategies.

I only get the message for submitting orders nothing else.

Anything special your doing the strategy? Can you reproduce with SampleMACrossOver?

I just ran SampleMACrossOver and got no output window prints as expected.

I should have mentioned that I only get this during Playback backtests only. I'm not able to run Playback with the Sample strategy right now, but I will try that ASAP.

Ah, no need to try your side I'll give it a go and let you know.

I checked into and this trace message has been part of NinjaTrader since NinjaTrader 7 days. There are reasons why its there which are still valid.

There is actually some interesting things we can do with output messages and provide more options to control the level of tracing yourself. I'll look into these features in SFT-1216.

Thanks for taking the time to post but as of now the messages are expected.

I just noticed this post regarding the Output Window "Submitting Order" message when doing Playback. I have another post opened on same topic. I wanted to comment that I used the same strategy using NT 7 and NT 8. There is no message in the Output Window when I use NT 7 and there is a message in the Output Window when I use NT 8 (even though TraceOrders is set to false).

We will change the submitting order output window message to just be a log message. So it doesn't clutter up your output window.
