IB VIX futures charting in NT 8 beta?

A change last year in the naming of VIX futures contracts by IB rendered NT 7 unable to chart them any longer.
Can the current version of NT 8 beta download or chart data for these contracts? Honestly I don't care about the weeklies as much as the monthlies, but since IB names them the same way I'd really like to get access to them. Back in July of last year there was a request to add this to the NT 8 beta. Were you able to do it?

I'm not personally familiar with the request brought up in July, and I'm not seeing it in our list of tracked feature requests. However, I've just tested an IB account with NinjaTrader 8, and I am receiving VIX data successfully. As long as your IB account is enabled to receive VIX data, then you should be good to go with NinjaTrader 8.
