    NT8B9 - NinjaScript Editor - commenting code with /*

If you edit a strategy - and I don't know - page/scroll down some, and then issue a /* on a blank line - nothing else below shows as commented, until you scroll down some... then it will be commented.

If you move up a full page/back down - it will "refresh" and show as commented.

This was after a Playback-M.R.... I think I also noticed it in NT8B8...

It's low hanging fruit, compared to issues with fills and reports...

And oh yeah - after scrolling back down and finishing my multi-line comment with */, the text below is in commented out form...

until I scroll down further to see it not be.

(attached is the image with */ and scrolling down to new lines)

issuing a compile "updates" it correctly.

also of note - if */ and then remove the /, everything below becomes 'commented' as expected, but adding the / back - nothing happens..as mentioned above.

    Hello sledge,

    Thank you for your patience.

I have been unable to recreate this on my end. I will continue to test to see if I can reproduce.

I'll make a video if I have to...

Can anyone else out there reproduce this or am I on my own?

This is also a common issue for me.

          Hello,
I have been working to reproduce this behavior and still am unable to. I do see when placing a /* it does skip over a few lines and then comment but I have not been able to reproduce those lines still being commented out after closing the comment with */
If it would not be an inconvenience would you be able to create a video of the behavior Sledge?

Here is a video. I think it has to do with the // between the /* and */ or as in my original post after the */. It didn't appear to do it when the // wasn't there.

              thanks.
Yes, that is the issue: comments cannot nest. I have experienced it myself multiple times when I tried to span, with a block comment, a section of code that already had inline comments. It is especially egregious when it involves properties, rather than just a block of procedural code.

I deal with TOAD daily and it works. I need to revisit this for testing.

Hm. Maybe it only works for some special people?

This person is in the same boat as I.

I'm looking at this right now, simple multi-line comments do not really work at all.

Appears in worse shape than before. (I only made the text smaller to show more of what is happening. Also my normal screen display size is at 150% scaling. )
