Understanding the new AddDataSeries constructor

Can anyone explain further than the documentation one parameter in the new AddDataSeries constructor:

barsToLoad


What exactly will that do in common situations. Say I have a tick chart, added a second instrument via AddDataSeries, both series are using same period (ticks) and the same Trading Session. When would barsToLoad be needed in such a situation?

Maybe your primary series is Daily bars with 2 years of data, and you're adding a tick series. With the other AddDataSeries() calls, it would return just as much data that is requested on the primary. However, maybe you do not need actually need that much historical tick data. You can then set the barsToLoad to 50 for example, and it would reduce the overhead in calculating the script.
