Beta 6: R3 Pivot calculating incorrectly?

    Hi guys,

It looks to me like the R3 pivot is calculating incorrectly.

I was testing this using daily pivots calculated on intra-day data.

I was comparing my Forex chart values against two different websites with pivot calculators... All the other pivot levels added up within a half pip or so (data difference), but R3 is way out on the several charts I tested.

    Cheers,
    Shane

    Hello,

Can you please tell me what data provider you are connected to within NinjaTrader. Also can you please attach a screen shot of both your chart and your Pivot settings so I may look into this further.

To capture a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.

Alternatively to capture a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and attach the file to your reply.

      Hi Christopher,

Thanks for your reply. I just tested it again and now it is all working fine on the 4 symbols I checked.

But there is new data now because 5pm EST has ticked over since my original post, so all the daily values both in my charts and on the websites have been re-calculated for a new Forex day.

Perhaps it was something in how the different pivots calculate with the weekend/sunday in forex.

Anyways, here is the screenshot as requested. I use Kintetick for data.

Just so you know: What the NinjaTrader Pivots indicator calls "R3" and "S3" are more typically called "R4" and "S4" (or even "R3 Wide" and "S3 Wide.")

Can you please test again on Monday and if you experience the same behavior can you please attach a screen shot of your chart so I may compare on my end.
