NT8-B5 market replay - can't enable all strategies selected

    I connected to market replay - I do get the standard error in the log as I have for quite some time - "Error on committing DB changes: System.Data.SqlServeCe.SqlCeException (0x80004005): A duplicate value cannot be inserted into a unique index.     Selecting any strategy (single/multi) in the strategies Tab - I cannot enable after right clicking. I was able to use the check box though and enabled a single strategy.

    I right clicked and disabled the strategy. I am now able to enable this strategy by right clicking - but all the others have it disabled. (And it's the same strategy on a different contract month).

    I moved the Playback-MR slider forward from 12/29/2013 to 2/14/2014 just out of randomness. My strategy disabled automatically (which is fine), I can no longer right click to enable it again. But ES 09-14 and ES 06-15 strategies now have the feature (right click, enable possible).

    Moved slider forward to 3/7/2014, same thing. Moved slider back to 2/20/2014 12:00:00am- Playback-MR has is stuck and lost as it has a spinning circle. This has locked up my control center. I am able to right on the slider and change dates manually - but nothing else anywhere is happening. Playback controller is unresponsive.

    Need to restart.

    Connected to Playback-MR - no errors in log, now all strategies are gone. (Probably because I had to use Task Manager to kill ninjatrader.exe.

    Added 4 strategies (The same for ES03-06-09-12/2014)/
    Can enable them all.

    Moved slider to 4/2/2014 10:55:50am. Can enable all.
    Moved slider to 6/5/2014 10:13:00am. Can enable all.
    Moved slider to 4/15/2014 1:11:17am. Can enable all.

    Enabled all strategies finally.
    Moved slider to 12/29/2013 12:00:00am. (start of data).
    Playback controller is frozen again. Disconnected and reconnected - played around some more - nothing seen.

    Exited NT8 normally. No save.

    Strategies are there. Great.
    Switch to log tab. COnnect to Playback - MR.
    Got the error for having strategies in the strategies tab (Same as above, error on committing DB changes).

    I can only enable 2 of the 4 strategies, (ES09-14, ES12-14).

    This might be more random than I originally thought (I reread my initial post). I was using start date data selector, not the slider.

    Well - I changed to the future from 12/29/2013 via the drop down for the DATE. landed on 8/21/2014. Now ES03-14 - I'm now able to enable). ES06-14 still cannot by right clicking.

    Changed the START DATE to 1/7/2014 - Now I can right click to enable ES 06-14 and all the other ones.

    Changed the START DATE to 9/16/2014 - Now I can not enable ES06-14.

    Changed the START DATE to 12/16/2014 - Now I can enable ES 06-14.

    Changed the START DATE to 2/10/2014 0 Now ES 03-14 and ES 06-14 - I can NOT right click to enable.

    The duplicate value error happened a couple other times - but doesn't appear directly related to the enable being active or not.

      I was able to reproduce the issue where the replay controller locks up and have reported this to our development team. Tracking ID for that issue is NTEIGHT-8904.

      When testing I was still unable to reproduce the issue of enabling strategies. Can you please test using only the Sample MA crossover strategy on your instruments and let me know if see the same behavior when enabling all strategies.

          I created a new workspace and closed my old one.

          I didn't even bother to use any charts.

          I connected to Playback-MR.
          I added 8 of "Sample ATM Strategy".. for es 03-14, 06-14, 09-14, 12-14, 03-15,06-15,09-15, 12-15 to Playback101.

          I closed and saved workspace.

          I opened NT8, connected to Playback-MR.

          I am able to right click and enabled all strategies.

          I used the START DATE selected and changed from my original start date of 12/29/2013 12:00:00am to 03/20/2014 12:00:00am.

          Now I selected all the strategies, right clicked, and "enable" is disabled. I individually selected each one and they were ALL unable to enable.

          I played around some moving the date via START DATE and enable never became active. Played with the slider. Nothing did anything. I enabled ES 03-14 by using the check box on the strategy tab. It enabled. I changed the date from the START DATE, and now 4 of the remaining strategies - I can now right click to enable. 3 still have the enable label greyed out and unusable.



          (My data is of course imported from NT7 and was recorded in NT7 live).

          I am using the 64 bit version of nt8b5.

              So I may test your replay data on my end can you please zip your replay folder found in Documents->NinjaTrader 8->db folder.

              Next please forward the zipped folder using the following 3rd party service to send the file.

                I exported my NT8 from my desktop -- I had to use filemail (15gb database)...

                Please hold a copy of this around so I don't have to upload this again. (I already did this for this BETA 1 or 2??). Name it "NT8_sledge" or something, so I can point everyone there to it? It contains only replay data recorded in NT7 and imported into NT8.

                There is another thread requesting my upload of my replay...

                    I have tested the issues you reported in Beta 6 and was no longer able to reproduce them on my end. Once Beta 6 is available can you please test again and let me know if you experience the same behavior on your end.

                      I can confirm I no longer have this issue in NT8B6.

                      Enabling all at once 16 strategies (2 distinct) over 8 ES contracts has worked every time.

                      NT8b6 release notes:
                      Fixed 8904 Playback Playback gets stuck when enabling multiple strategies.
