NT8 charts don't update during "tool"/Instrument maint

I had created a large # of stocks, approx 800 of them, and wanted to delete them. Doing this I noticed 3 things

1 - I did this during ES being real time, my charts did not update while NT8 B4 was deleting the symbols. I would hope this would have a higher priority or be running under a different thread. Really important ! ! ! !

2 - There cursor did not change, so unless I looked at the disk activity light, I would not know if anything was occurring. This ties into my prior request that NT provide more info on what it is doing. My prior request was on loading ... For this I would like to see a popup or info like "Deleting symbol name" So I would be able to know where it is in the progress to completion. Is this a 10 sec process or a 30 min process.
3 - I would like to see the ability to use Cntl-A - to select all. I was able to select the first one and then go to the bottom and use Shift Click.

To clarify, you were deleting these instruments from the Instruments window located in the Tools menu?

Yes, That is what I was doing. I'm traveling today, but I will reproduce it later to show what I am talking about if you would like.

To replicate, since I had recently deleted my stocks symbols,
1 - I added a long list of stocks. I added approx 2,000 I have them in a column in an excel SS, that I select only that column, then use Control Panel --> Tools --> Import -- Stock Symbol List. I then paste in the list of stocks. - I also provided a "new" name for the list -> JOR Stocks 1 - 20.
2 - get some data into the file by connecting to a data source, like Kinetick.
3 - I then added the list of stocks into Market Analyzer using the list name I just created.
4 - I see the data in MA window, so I know it is there as a check.
5 - I then go into Control Panel --> Tools --> Instruments and select Stocks, then select all symbols.

NT does delete them as it should, but you do not know what it is doing, and if you click on something else, it appears it is hung, but in reality it is completing the deletion process,

1 - Provide more info on what NT is doing. Deleting symbol xxx, or count deleting symbol 1,2, 3 , ,...
2 - Let NT complete this in a separate thread, and return control back to the user.

Hi joromero,

I'm not able to duplicate the lack of chart updates on my end while deleting a massive amount of instruments. They continue to update as expected for me. I would keep an eye on this and let us know if it continues occurring in Beta 6.

I will submit your request for more information transparency about what is happening under the hood on NT8, however.
