The current AddOn documentation seems to be slanted at creating your own windows. The only modification of the existing GUI contemplated seems to be adding a menu item to access your new capability. That is good, and valuable.
There is, however, a whole other class of extensions that I have seen no mention of -- modifying existing GUI items. For example I could, at least in principle, write my own chart window. It would be much more practical, though, if I could modify the existing chart window. I am thinking of things like:
Those are just examples. The bottom line is that I would like to see information and samples about modifying existing GUI items.

- Adding other linkage types (already another thread about that)
- Adding better window management, such as specifying window groups
- Providing tabbed indicator panels -- I have found that valuable on other platforms
