    Bug - Duplicates in Visual Studio Solution Explorer

    NT Team,

    It would appear where a NinjaScript (e.g. SampleBoolSeriesStategy) is imported (in error) more than once, the NinjaScript Editor (NE) correctly replaces the already existing NinjaScript. However, it would appear the Visual Studio (VS) Solution Explorer holds duplicate scripts (screenshot attached). The error message is
    The item "Indicators\SampleBoolSeries.cs" was specified more than once in the "Sources" parameter. Duplicate items are not supported by the "Sources" parameter. NinjaTrader.Custom.
    In NE removing the offending script works as expected. Alternatively, in VS removing one of the duplicate scripts removes both and thus all trace.

    However, in NT8 re-importing the script results in duplicates once more.

    Hi Shannon,

    Thanks for your note.

    I am testing this on my end and I will let you know what I find.

    When you import the script this should recompile the custom file.

    Are you reloading the project in visual studio after the compile?

    If you restart Visual Studio and reload the project are you still seeing the duplicate?

      Thanks for the follow up. In response to your questions:
      1) I am reloading the project in visual studio after the compile. In VS, I click "Reload all" in the File Modification Detected popup window.
      2) After restarting VS and reopening the project, the duplicates are still present. After several restarts of NT8 and VS the duplicates are still present. Please advise if your phase "reload the project" is different from reopening the project in this cased.

        Hello Shannon,

        I was able to reproduce this behavior and I have submitted this to the NinjaTrader development department.

        Thank you for tracking this issue down. Please let me know if you find any other issues with NT8 you would like to submit to development.
