Multi-Instrument chart

When creating a multi-instrument chart, it can be that one wants to re-order the instruments in the panel list or add new instruments onto the chart but not as the last (bottom) panel. For example, one might add AUDCAD, AUDCHF, AUDUSD. Subsequently, one might add AUDNZD. This latter instrument is desired to be in panel 3, moving AUDUSD to panel 4.

A mechanism to quickly re-order panels is needed. In the Data Series window, it would so easy if one could simply drag data series entries around to order them as one wants and the panel assignments updated automatically accordingly. Doesn't seem like a difficult thing to implement. Any chance this would be possible?

There is some heavy lifting involved with providing this sort of functionality with the data series menu.

Curious, are you are aware that you can drag/drop a data series on the chart itself to rearrange the panels as they appear on the chart? This will not change the order in the data series menu, but will help you quickly re-order panels. This is available for both data series and indicators. You can also drag/drop these chart objects between other tabs and windows which will copy the chart object to a new window if desired.

In the actual dialog box, would it be any easier to simply reorder the list of instruments in the box when opening the dialog to match what is actually on the chart? There would then be no real need to add the additional drag/drop in the dialog box, and the order of instruments in the list would match the chart.

Just a thought.
