(Share) Email not being sent

I have set up my email account in sharing services and tried to send any tab (since chart share is at the moment not available). When the Share window opens, I enter details and press send the buttons (OK, Cancel) grey out and nothing is sent, while the window stays open.

EDIT: After few minutes the share window closed with no notification. It would be useful if there would be a "test connection" in the email set up as at the moment it is hard to verify

Curious, how long did it sit there?

Were there any errors on the log tab present?

Yes, the error in logs:
"There was an error sending your message: Syntax error, command unrecognized. The server response was:" (nothing)
