Export workspaces, indicators, etc. to other computer w/o restore

Hi,

How would one effectively export from their workstation and give another person the workspaces, or setup.

I have had several people ask me for my workspaces, setup etc.. and the only thing I found on bigmikes was a recommendation to just go to 'x/documents/Ninjatrader 7/templates

Does that do it all?

If there was an easy way to do an export of all the indicators and workspaces then it would be great..

MT4 has a great system to do such, and even TradeStation is very very simple.

Any recommendations?

If you are looking to transfer your settings, data, templates, etc over to another PC, check out the following

You will want to create a backup on the 1st PC, transfer the backup file to the 2nd PC, & then run the NinjaTrader restore utility. Please see the following steps for completing this process:

Creating a backup archive:
1. Disconnect from all connectivity providers (if connected) and from within the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Backup...
2. The "Backup NinjaTrader" dialog window will appear
3. Select the items you wish to back up
4. Press the "Run Backup" button

You will transfer this backup file to the 2nd PC and then run the NinjaTrader restore utility. (You can transfer this file with a flash/jump drive)

To restore a backup archive:
1. From within the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Restore...
2. Select the backup archive to restore from the "Restore" file dialog window
3. Press the "Open" button

yes, but I have done that and it works great. However, a friend wants all my stuff and a few others. How do I get this to them easily without replacing their NT?

Yes – you would simply select which settings & configurations you want to transfer to them; e.g. workspaces, templates, etc. and send the backup files to them. They would run the restore action.

Also make sure the version(s) are compatible prior to running the restore procedure.
