    Instrument List

I am missing a way to select an instrument from one of my instrument lists in a chart window. One can only select the instruments from the "default" list, but not from any other list in the drop down menu. Or did I miss something. It is a bit slow to always go over the Data Series Manager to select an other instrument list and than to switch to an other instrument. Perhaps it would be a good idea to allow sub-folders in the default folder.

    Hello moon_121,

    Thank you for your post.

The only instruments that will be available from the instrument drop down menu on your charts are the instruments loaded in the Default Instrument List which can be managed from the Instrument Manager.

You can also quickly switch to another data series by simply typing the name of the instrument in your existing chart. This will allow you to change the instrument without going into the Data Series Menu.

To do this, please first click on an open chart to active it and then type in the symbol and expiry you'd like to switch to. For example, if you'd like to switch to COMEX Gold, you would type "GC 12-10" (without quotes).

Please see our NT V7 Help Guide article on 'How to change a Data Series' for more information:

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

      Next Version?

It would be a nice feature to add the possibility to select an instrument from a choice of instrument lists in the chart window in one of the next versions. Could you add it on to your "to-do-list"?)

moon_121, thanks for the suggestion. As a workaround, you can type in the instrument name to quickly change instrument (and timeframe), as Matthew suggested.

        A few examples:
To change to a 5 minute chart of ES 12-10, you can simply type into a chart window "ES 12-10 5M".
To change to a 100 tick chart of CL 01-11, you can type "CL 01-11 100T".
