What will be the cheapest way (or free) to backfill these charts? Delay is not an issue since I want to backfill prior days intraday data.

Hello meyer99,
Thank you for your post.
If you want to backfill intraday data you may want to consider connecting to a NinjaTrader-supported data-only provider such as eSignal, BarChart.com, Kinetick, or IQ Feed. For a complete list, see the following table:
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.ChipNinjaTrader Customer Service

Using an Esignal feed Sugar, Cotton, OJ, etc historical data shows in Esignal but not in NinjaTrader. If you leave the chart open, it fills with live data as it comes in. There was another thread that mentioned the NinjaTrader does not support historical data for those markets - please confirm.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Chip View PostHello meyer99,

Yes.. and no it does not backfill for those markets when connected to ESignal. Also, no data is avail for those markets when connecting to 'External Data Feed', unlike other markets such as CL, GC, ES, YM, SI, ZB, ZC, etc which backfill fine.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Chip View PostHello powermoney,
Have you already right-clicked on the chart & selected "Reload All Historical Data"? does this still not refresh/backfill the missing data when connected to eSignal?
Are you confirming that the historical data for Softs (KC, CC, CT, OJ, and SB) are supported and should be populating? If so, why does the data not load/backfill from either Esignal or External Data Feed?
Since you'll probably ask, there are no errors shown in the log or trace files, the charts will just show blank with no price data.

Hello powermoney,
I suggest to contact eSignal and check if this is as expected as per your eSignal subscription. Check if historical data for such instruments is not supported in 3rd party applications such as NinjaTrader.
These instruments are supported in NinjaTrader. If your data feed supports these instruments, you should receive data in NinjaTrader.
If you are enabled, how much historical data is requested in your chart? Does it make a difference if you reduce the amount of historical data?

Hello meyer99,
The Interactive Brokers connection supports real-time data as well historical data for *minute & *Daily intervals. However historical tick-based data (tick , range, etc.) would not be supported.
*For Live accounts
If you require this historical tick data for trading &/or analysis then you can supplement this data by connecting to another data provider. NinjaTrader supports multiple simultaneous connections to different connectivity providers and in some cases, to the same connectivity provider allowing you to:
• Connect to and trade through multiple brokers simultaneously
• Connect to your broker and your data feed provider simultaneously
Let me know if you are interested in establishing multiple connections then I can provide additional info on set up & connection order.ChipNinjaTrader Customer Service

I got it to work with help from another trader not related at all with NT staff. NT lists a contract that does not exist: January. So while I was trying to backfill March the system was going after January. Once I deleted January from Instrument manager it worked. You must fixed NT so that January for Sugar is not in the default list. I suspect other softs and metals might have the same problem.

Hello meyer99,
Good to hear you resolved the issue.
Am I correct you removed the 01-11 expiry under the Misc-tab of the Instrument Editor window? You clicked the Contract months row and clicked the '...' button. There you removed the 01-11 expiry correct?
I will forward your feedback to Development to exclude the 01-11 expiry as per the SB instrument.
