no historical data

Unfortunately there are issues with our historical data server at the moment. We are trying to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Can you please restart NinjaTrader and re-connect to your connectivity provider.

Subsequently you should be able to load historical data again.

Two questions:

1)I was connected to prod (zen-fire NT 7.22) and got disconnected from the historical data servers in the morning, and later reconnected without any other exceptions. Will my strategy keep running, or do I still need to restart NT?

2)What are historical data servers? (Just trying to understand what is meant by historical? (I was connected to live data)

Hi tradingGary,

1.) The strategy should keep running with this type of partial disconnection.

2.) Historical data is anything that is not occurring at this very moment. For instance, if the current time was 12:00:01, any data prior to this time would be 'historical'.

Historical data would be loaded from the server only when reconnecting, creating a new chart or when the reloading of historical data is initiated via the right click menu.
