having problems with

CLOSEPOSITION;<ACCOUNT>;<INSTRUMENT>;;;;;;;;;;

...i.e. how can I pick up, via code, the account name and instrument name in the correct syntax to feed this command without any user input

should have mentioned that using OIF builder I have

CLOSEPOSITION;SIM101;6E 12-10;;;;;;;;;;

this is fine on a one off basis....I want my code to pickup each users account and instrument automatically

Though not supported officially, you could work with Account.Name in NinjaScript, instrument name can be 'grabbed' from the Instrument class - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...instrument.htm

I tried that before I posted. It just returns '6E' without the contract date....which is not sufficient for OIF

You need to use the .FullName property not the .MasterInstrument.Name one.
