Zen Fire disconnects

    Zen Fire disconnects

    Has anyone else been getting more Zen Fire disconnects over week or so. I'm getting sometimes 3/4 a day, from 15 secs to a few mins, but only started happening the last week, and I haven't changed anything.

    Thank you for your post.

    I would encourage other forum members to contribute what their experience has been on this item.

    In the mean time, please send your log & trace files for one or more of the effected days. You can find these in the My Documents folder at the file paths:
    1. NinjaTrader 6.5 > Trace > trace.2010MMDD.txt
    2. NinjaTrader 6.5 > Log > log. 2010MMDD.txt

    If you are using NinjaTrader 7 then just substitute 7 for 6.5 in the file path above.

    These are text (.txt) files that you can just attach to your email. Please send this email to support AT ninjatrader DOT com

          Yesterday and today after the open and after makert data release and sometimes near the close

          The connection status is green but data not coming

            That's different - not a disconnect. Probably a problem with your connection or bandwidth.

              I have had disconnects with ninja using zenfire for the past few weeks. I also get a few from tradestation. I finally determined that it was a problem with a network overload on my PC. I reduced the # of symbols for which I collect data and the problem went away.

              What's weird is Market Delta w/ IQFeed & X-Trader were working perfectly, it was only ninjatrader & tradestation that had problems, and ninja moreso than tradestation.

              I do not know how ninjatrader manages its network resources but my guess is that ninja is releasing and establishing connections which make it more sensitive to overload issues. just my hunch, if it's not that then I think it's something similar.

              bottom line - ninja is sensitive so minimize any other interactions. if it continues I'll have to put ninja or one of my other apps on a second computer.
