Session template does not apply on new chart

This actually existed for a long time and not just in recent version. When you select new chart, specify a non-default session template, the chart created still uses the default template(<Use instrument settings>). Only after the chart has been created you can set the session template.

The reason why this is the case is that you have a chart template applied, which includes the specific session template. You will have to first change template selection to none.
