Charts and default instrument lists

I have six charts, all neatly arranged (chart template unfortunately doesn't seem to record the window size, or the data series) I want to change the instruments in them to test a different replay period. If I try and do that using data series, it tells me I can't delete the primary instrument. Well, that's not entirely true is it because I can select a different instrument from the drop down list and change it that way.

Problem is the drop down list only contains the default list, so I can't change a chart at all to an instrument not in the default list. This is really annoying, and means I have to recreate all the charts again, and resize them etc, or add all the instruments to the default list then delete them again afterwards (of course that may not work properly, it already crashed on me - see http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/forum/showthread.php?p=198621#post198621)

Thanks for your forum post.

Instead of trying to remove it from data series. The way to do this is to just type the instrument.

To change the main data series of the chart to ES 12-10 for example just select the chart and start typeing ES 12-10 and click enter then the data series will change.

There are some reasons under the hood why you cant change the main data series from the data series window.
