    high cpu / slow

im using NT 7 beta 22 on Windows Ultimate 64 bit system with 8 gb ram.
i only have 5 charts with stochastics and 1 finalg market profile chart.
when i start NT eveything is fine but after a few hours the cpu usage goes to 50% and NT is really slow,
    any ideas?

    Hello O66-nl,

    Thank you for your post.

The only method by which to overcome performance issues such as these requires that you reduce what is running until the software performs as you desire. For a list of performance tips to apply, see the following link to our Help Guide: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...ance_tips2.htm

I have noticed this slowdown in NT also. It starts fine, but then response becomes sluggish over time. This behavior is like it is consuming but not releasing resources. Cutting down on charts/indicators is not a good option because it starts out fine, so how do you know how much is too much? And in what combination?

        Tarkus11,

Testing is the only way to determine if changes are sufficient to resolve the performance issue.

          thanks for your reply.
i think that there is a serious problem if you cant have 5 charts with stochastsics and set to calaculate real time....or zenfire feed that is only feeding 1 instrument for 5 different timeframes
i have the idea that beta 22 is less efficient than versions before.

            O66-nl,

Please check for the other items mentioned in the link I provided as well. Perhaps you have other items running in the background.

sure i have items running in the background
but why is Ninja running fine for the first few hours?
and when its getting slow i close ninja and start it again and its running fine for the next few hours
(without booting or stpping the items in the background)
i understand that its difficult to troubleshoot.
Am i the only one with this problem?

                O66-nl,

As NinjaTrader runs, data is cached in to memory by the .NET framework - restarting NT clears that cache.

problem isnt amount of ram allocated to Ninja but CPU time.
when its running normal its switching between 2 and max. 6 (in taskmanager)
when ninja is slow its constant between 45 and 50%

                    O66-nl,

Just curious - is this something you'd be able to replicate without any custom indicators or strategies, just using NT defaults?

                      will try.
its difficult because problems are starting at random times and time interval. so will run Ninja tonight with only 1 min chart or so and no indicators and see what happens

O66-nl, so what did it happen to your 1' chart experiment?

                            O66-nl,

Clarify for me whether you're testing with or without the custom indicators/strategies.

                              tested without indicators

ninja was active during my night, in the morning i couldnt exit Ninja the normal way.
i had to kill the process in task manager

i have changed my charts and i must say that i have less problems now.
so maybe its a combination of indicators and other stuff.
