    Charts not updating

This morning my charts are not updating. It appears that NT7 is not reading my Zen-Fire feed. When I do a reload of the historical data the chart shows new bars but no new bars are created. The tick counter shows zero. I do see changes on chart trader for the ask and bid numbers and I see activity in a time and sales window.

I have reset the database and repaired the database. I have stopped and started the connection multiple times. I have closed and re-opened the workspace. I stopped and restarted NT. None of these steps have worked.

    Hello BobTN,

    Thank you for your post.

Please right click in your chart and select Data Series.
In the Data Series menu, set your Session Template to 'Default 24/7', then click OK.

That got the charts working. Now how do we fix it so I can use the proper session times. If I want to only look at 24/7 I might as well go back to running 6.5

        BobTN,

You can, of course, apply any session template you'd like.
To view the settings that a specific template uses, click Tools > Session Manager, then select the template there within.

Right now that isn't true. If I use the RTH template for NQ the bars don't update.

            BobTN,

1.) Which timezone does your PC use?

2.) Which RTH template, specifically? (there are a few available)

              1) CDT

              2) As far as I know there is only one RTH template for NQ, the CME US index template.

BTW all of this worked fine yesterday. I made zero changes to NT7. The only things I did after I finished trading yesterday were to backup and save my workspace.

                Hi BobTN,

Thanks for the clarification on the template (CME is the right template to use, but there would be nothing stopping you from using a different template is why I asked).

Please open the Session Manager (Tools > Session Manager) and select the 'CME US Index Futures RTH' template.

Near the bottom of the menu, you'll see a drop-down menu labeled 'The session times above are based on the following time zone'. What time zone is used?

                      Kyle,

I have exactly the same problem as BobTN does. Could you post "a way to fix it" here? or should I send you an email with my trace log?

                      Regards

My charts magically started working again today. Friday they didn't work and today they do without any changes on my part.

I have had multiple issues in this area of bars/charts not updating. I have started a number of threads trying to solve this. The problems happen consistently, but are not easily reproduced (for my issues anyway). So the threads led nowhere.
I have found the problems occur most often for daily bars, and are somehow related to session templates and workspaces, when the pc is not on EST time. I am on AEST (Sydney) time.

                              astrolobe,

                              Thanks for your post.

In the future, please try to stick to a single thread for a single issue. This makes tracking case history significantly easier and should ultimately result in resolution. We understand that some issues are hard to reproduce, but it is that replication that allows us to find an underlying cause.

On that note, could you provide me with links to the threads you're referring to?
