Can indicators be "tied" to different session templates?

I really like NT 7. Great job.

I am using 24/7 session template charts on YM because I like many of my my indicators to calculate on "continuous" data. However, there are some indicators that I want based only within a particular time frame which would be a different session template. For example, the PriorDayOHLC I like based on the previous day's regular trading hours (0730 - 1415 Mountain Time). On the same chart (and in the same panel) can indicators be "assigned" to calculate based upon different session templates?

I've tried instantiating 2 copies of YM, 1 min, with different session templates hoping that I could then have my indicators use the desired data/session but it won't let me instantiate 2 copies of YM, 1 min, even though it would use different sessions.

Any thoughts on how I can have my indicators on the same chart/panel calculate on different session times?

One thing I haven't tried is to instantiate a second copy of YM based on a different bar time (say 2 minutes instead of 1 min) but I don't want a whole bunch of other bars on my chart. I just want to have my PriorDayOHLC (and some other indicators) be able to select data points from within different session time constraints and plot everything on the same panel on the same chart.

    Thanks.

    Hello higler,

Thanks for the feedback on NT7.

You're right - It's not possible to have two data series with the same interval settings even if there are different session templates.

You may want to look into custom coding a solution. The following reference sample can help with getting highest highs for a time range, and you can modify for other indicators / price values.
Calculating the highest high or lowest low for a specified time range.

Ryan - Thanks for the response. I thought that was likely the case but I wanted to check in case I was missing something. I'm capable of doing custom coding so I'll go ahead and do it. BTW, is "Calculating the highest high or lowest low for a specified time range" supposed to be a link to an example, because it's not showing up as a link.

It is, and has been corrected with the link now. Thanks for letting me know.
