SPY IB + TWS pnL Calculation

    Hello,

I run TWS with NT and trade SPY. Past 2 days I have noticed that when I enter a trade it autmatically puts the pnL at -1 pt SPY. The entry price is correct and when I exit all is fine however the -1 pt pNL is an annoying glitch. Is there anyway to fix this? I tried restarting NT/etc. Thanks

Figured out the issue. It did this right as I set the comm to $1 for SPY than it added a -1 imminently as I entered a trade to the pNL, however it still didn't calculate commissions correctly in the account performance tab. Seems there is a bug with the commission calculations in NT7 for equities? I had no issues with commissions with futures so not sure. Thanks

        YoungOne,

Can you elaborate on the miscalculation?

What were the parameters of the order(s) in question (size, fill price, direction, etc)?

What PnL figures are reported? What figures are expected?

Basically, I set NT to do $1 commission for 100 shares of SPY. When I would enter a trade long or short SPY, the pNL would immediately show -1 point. I.e. $100 loss. Now of course this was incorrect but it for some reason added -1 pt loss to the trade instead of - $1 for commission as it should have. Once trade closed everything was fine, the entry price and exit were correct but while in the trade the pnL calculations were incorrect by -1 pt.

Can you also provide me with an image of the settings that you're using for SPY?

By settings you mean instrument manager correct? Here is instrument manager SPY:

                    YoungOne,

                    Thanks for providing those settings.

When initiating a trade for 1 long on SPY with your commission settings in place, I'm seeing PnL reporting start at 0.

When you saw the incorrect PnL figure, was this a trade in the Sim101 account?
If so, can you tell me which commission settings are in place for Stocks - Simulator

No I would go long 100 SPY and the pNL for the trade would be negative 1 than if spy would go down 1 cent, it would be -1.01. This is what the dom would show as pnL. This is for a live account, haven't tried it on simulator.

                        YoungOne,

                        Thanks for the clarification.

I just tested again on my end (in the Sim101) account with the correct quantity, but am still seeing PnL reported as 0 as I enter the position.

Could you please add the 1/100 commission settings to Stocks - Simulator, then try placing the same trade in the Sim101 account? Where does PnL start?

I just set the 1/100 + $1 minimum for sim and tried, didn't do this -1 pt glitch. However in account performance the sim trade has no commission calculated

                            YoungOne,

From the Control Center, click Tools > Options.
In the General tab of the Options menu, is the 'Apply Commission to PnL Calculations' enabled? If not, please check the box, then re-run your performance report.

Yes it is. I have setup commissions on futures, worked fine. Not sure what is going on with SPY.
