lost price connection

Hi,

If I'm connected live to Zen, with running strategies, and I connect to IQFeed, then disconnect from IQFeed, I get the message "lost price connection but will keep running" for each strategy.

Is that expected behaviour?

Hi Dave,

Yes, this is expected. You can check settings used under Tools > Options > Strategies tab > NinjaScript tab.

Perhaps you misunderstood me. Why does it tell me it has lost its price connection when its primary price connection, Zen Fire, has been connected all the time?

Thanks for the clarification.

Your results are not expected unless the strategy is assigned to the IQfeed connection. You can check the strategy tab to see the connection assigned to a particular strategy. This should typically be the primary connection.

Please let us know what you find out.

It's a bug then. Zen Fire is the assigned connection.

Hi Dave,

Check the log tab of control center, and look for any connection messages related to the Zenfire connection. You may have to Right Click > Filter by categor > and uncheck anything not related to connection.

There is a difference between a manual disconnection (File > Disconnect > IQFeed) and a "lost" connection, as it relates to the setting.

No, there's nothing about Zen Fire. It really is the IQFeed disconnect that does it.

I apologize. My earlier comments were incorrect. You will see this message for any disconnections, even if not the primary connection or the one assigned to the strategy.

OK, but its not correct and it means I have to code or manually check that my primary price connection is still there.

Yes, it will apply to all connections - they act as backup to the primary.

Correct - If you're looking for more control, you can code for connection losses related to the traded account connection.
