    Kinetick delayed streaming data causes SuperDOM problems

    Setup/Status:
    Connected to Kinetick only,
    Subscribscription includes Globex Futures and specifically NOT subscribed to any of the real-time equity data feeds.

    Observations:

    the dynamic SuperDOM does not display data for FUTURES.
    The charts and T&S seemed unaffected.

    I activated an ATM strategy on the SIM account by selling at market and the strategy seemed to execute correctly.

    Notes:

    I had real-time equities data turned off for two days and noticed the problem Sunday night. I had the equites real-time data turned back on and the DOM display was back to normal.

    Likely, you will need to add 'Market Depth' to your Kinetick subscription. If you are not sure if your subscription has this enabled, please send an email to [email protected] including your Kinetick ID.

      Kinetick - No Equities Data pre and post "Regular" Market Hours

      My Kinetick subscription includes NASDAQ, NYSE, AMEX, Market Depth, and the Globex Futures.

      PROBLEM:
      Invalid (or no) rt equities data is available outside of Regular Trading Hours when Kinetick is the primary connection.

      Two weeks ago I was told that the Ninja/Kinetick development team was working on fixing this.

      I'm curious why this isn't a problem for anyone else.
      Would someone who trades equities (eg:SPY) pre-market and uses Kinetick tell me what you do?

      What I've been doing is using IB as primary and then 5 -10 min after the open reconnect with Kinetick as the primary (mainly so I can get the Kinetick market internals.)
      Then again after 3PM Chicago time, I reconnect with IB as primary.

      I tried removing equities from my Kinetick subscription (see earlier post) but all that did was "delay" the stream - and Ninja does not distinguish between real time and delayed STREAMING data... that was a mess and accomplished nothing so I had the real time equities data turned back on. I have been told that delayed equities data cannot be turned off, if I am connected to Kinetick RT it is going to be there and if it is the primary conncetion then Ninja is not able to "see" the valid RT stream from other connections.

      I've used IQfeed, Barcharts with NTv7 and eSignal with NTv6.5.
      I didn't have this problem with any of those other feeds - but can't swear that any of them behaved differently than Kinetick as watching/trading SPY (also GLD and others) pre/post market is something I started doing only recently.

      Suggestions or just perspective will be appreciated.

          Interesting. I'm not sure it is related but I have been experiencing strange behaviour on my instruments which only have delayed-feed data. Upon opening NT7 with Kinetick RT, for the first 10 to 15 minutes, the minute charts are stuck at the final bar (so that bar generally looks very tall). Also, if I open the chart just before market open (even if the data-series is set to 24/7) the Bid and Ask prices are extremely wide (about 100 points). After about 15mins the chart then recovers and renders new bars. But if the chart is manually refreshed it will often return to the prob for another 15mins, especially if a different time-frame is selected such as seconds rather than minutes (which would presumably be now cached).
          NB. I'm running this on a Mac. No other problems. Instruments delivered in real-time do not have this problem.

            Hello vlc,

            Please see my response on the other other forum thread. Unfortunately this behavior occurs for instruments that provide delayed data.

            If you like to workaround the issue, please contact Kinetick and have them enable real-time data for the instruments in question.
