Suggestiong - Unrealized P/L

Hi-

A suggestion for the next build: Enable the "Unrealized P/L" column so that it shows unrealized P/L when trading live.

This doesn't currently occur.

Ninja knows the average price of any position...It knows the market, the bid/offer and last trade...yet it wont' display unrealized for LIVE trading (it works fine for simulated trading).

Thanks - who is your broker and where are you looking at this value? You should be able to click positions tab and see unrealized PnL there.

Anyways, I know how it *should* work - I'm pretty good with NT at this point. Unless there's some special setting for "live" trading, I cannot get unrealized PnL (though once a trade is closed, the "realized" column will populate).

Positions, average price all work fine.

PS the "unrealized" column populates neither in the "strategy" tab nor under the "positions" tab.

That screenshots shows your connection to Trading Technologies is orange - meaning it's not connected fully. Check the log tab of control center for any error messages related to this connection. You may have to check with your broker to verify you have the right connection details.

Very interesting, I've always wondered what that means...however, the fact is I've run through several hundred trades via the TT FIX connection with nary an error in order submission, confirmation, cancellation, or reporting.

So, looking at my logs, I consistently get "------ Futures: Primary connection = connected, Price feed = ConnectionLost"

That's fine, I actually use DTN to drive price feeds...I don't believe I'm getting any price updates from my TT connection. Shouldn't NT be able to pull prices from the DTN connection and apply that to any open position PnL?

PS on further examination I had the wrong IP for price feeds; when I'm out of this open position I'll re-connect and see if everything works fine.

Alright-

The orange connect state was in fact due to my mistake with the IP address.

However - having changed that, and with two green connections, the unrealized PnL still doesn't show up...so, something to pass on to your developers.

Looks like when I restarted, and entered a completely new position (not one that had been entered when the connection was bad), PnL started showing up -

So, problem solved on my end, TY!
