beta 21 - FDAX freeze on MR

    beta 21 - FDAX freeze on MR

    1. open FDAX 12-10 chart 4 renko
    2. open ES 12-10 chart 4 range
    3. connect zenfire...download today's L1 data for both instruments
    4. disconnect zen...connect MR
    5. ES chart loads no problem with starting time 12:00 AM
    6. FDAX chart freezes on 'Loading Data'...I suspect because FDAX data start on NT server at 2:00:07 AM and not at 12 midnight....(i.e. running FDAX in MR by itself is no problem)

    conclusion: FDAX charts can not recover in MR if replay data does not start at 2 AM

    ..... edit....

    FDAX charts eventually load...however do not run in MR which is set to today (16 sep) as the default end date is 14 sep

    checking NT7/db/data the folder for today has the correct data i.e. 16 sep for both ES 12-10 and FDAX 12-10

    ..... edit....

    did reload historical data for both of my FDAX charts....they both then showed end date 15 sep instead of 16 in MR.....hit play button in MR and both FDAX started running properly...checked end date and both had changed to 16 sep but only after running MR.....

    ES on the other hand shows correct end date at all times

        Thanks for the clarification.

        I'm not seeing any delay in the FDAX chart loading. Likewise, the data loads within my Market Analyzer immediately.

        That said, it seems that you have additional windows in your setup that were not included with your original instructions.

        Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

        In the message, include the following:
        1.) A link to this forum thread.

        2.) Your workspace:
        Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Workspaces

        3.) Your most current trace file.
        You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        Today's trace file would be named 'trace.20100916.txt'.

          my workspace just has 2 ES charts and 2 FDAX charts

          please confirm:
          1. your end you downloaded and ran both and ES and an FDAX chart at the same time
          2. your FDAX MR data does not start at 12:00:00 AM but rather at 2:00:07 ( as mine has all week)

                corrupt db
                renamed db...restarted NT....works fine now

                  spoke too soon
                  ran FDAX renko in replay fine
                  the switched to live feed and got the same error message
                  "Failed to call "Ad" method for period type 'Renko'.Exeption of type'SystemOutofMemoryException' was thrown
                  it also slows down NT for 3 mins while it chokes on the Renko

                  Given this is a new db, it would appear that beta 21 Renko charts are corrupting the db...will try to isolate further

                  ...edit...

                  if you close the renko and open a 1 min FDAX and then convert it to Renko...no problem

                  problem occurs when you try to switch feed from live to MR or MR to live with an FDAX Renko chart open

                    Chart data is not loaded in the database in NT 7, so renaming this file would not resolve your issue.

                    The issue here is that NinjaTrader is running our of system resources. You need to reduce what is being loaded until the software performs as you desire. See the following link for a list of performance tweaks to apply: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...rformanceTips1

                      I am running 1 chart only....FDAX 4 Renko 1 day of data

                      first live and then MR or vice versa

                      on a quad-core, 1GB RAM with 3GB virtual

                      and you are telling me beta 21 does not have a Renko bug related to switching feeds...instead it is resources

                      if that were true, NT would be out of business?

                          I literally had this happen with only 1 FDAX chart running, 1 day of data specified and no strats or inds in chart. I am sure it has something to do with Renko chart on feed switch

                          I could not reproduce this morning...will send files next time it occurs

                            I have isolated the bug to Renko switching session templates....will send trace file

                            to reproduce:
                            1. open NT with no workspace other than default 'untitled' which has no charts at all
                            2; open a 1 min 6E 12-10 chart with session time of 'default 24/7'...no problem
                            3. create session with 300 AM open per attached pic
                            4. in the 1 min chart, right click/DataSeries change session time in chart to 300 AM session...no problem
                            5. now change chart type to Renko....beta21 can not handle 300 AM session time and freezes

                            ....edit...
                            this results in a corrupted data base error message after 5-10 minutes....
                            RepairDB and ResetDB to not help
                            only solution I have found is to rename old db and restart NT
