Kinetick symbol problem for Euro futures

Hi, I asked a question in the Kinetick post which didn't get answered but was closed last week.Can someone please help me with this?:

"I've still got the futures symbol set to 6E as before and its still giving an error message "Error on loading chart for 6E 12-10 Globex" Does this need to be different for Kinetick?"

John, it should be the same. Can you please post the full text of the error?

Hi Austin,
the full error message is "error on loading chart for '6E 12-10 Globex':Unable to load historical data:unknown instrument"
The data actually changes like its searching for an alternative contract eg it goes through 06 08, 03 10, 06 10, 09 10,12 10etc
Under instrument manager the 6E euro contract has the following details:
Exchange: globex
Expiry: 12-10
Under Instrument editor:
Exchange: ticked as Globex
Under Misc it has the Kinetick Symbol Map symbol as 6E

any ideas?

The settings for the instrument sound to be correct.

Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

In the message, please include the following:
1.) A link to this forum thread.

2.) Your most current trace file.
You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
Today's trace file would be named 'trace.20100913.txt'.

Solution below

just to do an update for anyone else that has this problem, Kyle has now solved this. He suggested updating to the latest version 21 beta but what really cured it was that he also suggested this:

"6E daily data is definetly available from the free EOD connection. Please disconnect, then reset your instrument list. After resetting, please restart NinjaTrader, reconnect to Kinetick EOD and see if 6E daily data is now available. To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'. "
