New chart horizontal spacing should adjust for bar/candle width
I just noticed this in beta 21. (Don't know if it happened before.) If I create a new 5-min chart of ES and accept the default candle width of 3, the chart looks fine. (See first screen shot below.) However, if I change the candle width to 7 before letting the chart build for the first time, I get the same horizontal spacing as the width-3 chart but now the candles are overlapping. (See second screen shot.) Don't you think the horizontal spacing should change so a new chart doesn't produce overlapping candles?

How do I designate the spacing for a new chart? As far as I can tell, all I can do is specify the width. If I then get overlapping candles and respond by increasing the spacing, generally the width will change too and then I have to go back and adjust that all over again! I do hope you address this....

MikeInMa,
What I suggest is setting up a chart with the visuals you like then right clicking on the chart > Templates and set this as your default template. Then the next time you make a chart, select this template and you will get the spacing you want by default on the chart.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service
