I upgraded to NT beta 21 and noticed immediately that I can now connect to the generic External Data connection when there is nothing defined for it. This should be reproducible on your end. It is not intermittent.

It is possible to connect to the External Data Feed when you are not connected to any other data feeds even with NinjaTrader 6.5. This is expected.

This allows you to connect to an External program, such as tradestation. If this external program is not active you will not receive data. This is expected.
