RIFIN index chart does not update intraday

I am using Ninjatrader 7 beta 20 and am trying to get RIFIN index to chart. I am using TD Ameritrade for my dataprovider.

In the control center orders tab I selected STOCK and then entered: $RIFIN.X
The open high and low numbers update however BID ASK and LAST do not. I would expect BID and ASK to not appear since its an INDEX but thought that LAST should update as it does on TD Ameritrades website along with Quotetracker which I also use. The raw data feed from TD Ameritrade for $RIFIN.X includes the current price.

IN NT7 at the end of the day I can chart RIFIN and can get 1minute bar chart data going back over 400 days. During intraday NT7 chart only shows the previous day and never updates unless I recreate the chart after close of day.

This is an improvement over NT6.5 which I could not get any RIFIN information at all.

Is this a bug / limitation of Ninjatrader or is there possibly a setting I am missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the symbol mapping you have for this instrument in the Instrument Manager?

I've tried multiple instruments all indexes RUT and SPX all do the same thing.

When I entered $RIFIN.X as I said in the first post it created an instrument $RIFIN.X with default exchange everything else defaults.
This instrument did not work for strategies but it did work for charts with the limitation I could not see intraday information only previous day.

I then edited the $RIFIN.X instrument and changed the Master Instrument name to RIFIN and added NYSE to exchange. It then began working for strategies. I still had the same problem for charts intraday and strategies intraday did not work. It would complain about missing bar data for RIFIN.

I changed Session Template to US Equities RTH and nothing changed during intraday.
Now that its after 4pm and I can remake the chart and it shows up. Change session template to US Equities ETH and the chart doesn't work.

The symbol map is still set to $RIFIN.X for all entries. I've tried changing exchanges to all the various exchanges trying to get it to work. Changing merge policy to the different setting did not appear to change anything.

This is what the chart looks like on my end with ETH session template with your settings It is after markets right now though so likely no data is being pushed through..

My chart with ETH for 9/1 is blank..
Changing it to 24/7 looks like your.
Changing it to RTH ends at 16:00 but otherwise looks like yours.
No data is being pushed now that its after hours.

I just tried this on my laptop and it works fine so it must be with my system. The laptop is win7 32bit while the desktop is win7 64bit I have compatibility settings set to XP SP3. I am running the 32bit version of NT7 on both. NT7 64bit doesn't work very well.

I'm guessing it must be something to do with 64 bit system.

edit: I will try to see if intraday works on laptop tomorrow. I will post again with the results.

I would not expect the 64 bit to be the cause. Please try this to clear any old data and start fresh.

1. Close all charts for the instrument
2. Go to Tools>Historical Data Manager and then find your instrument in the Edit tab.
3. Select it and press DEL on your keyboard to delete it

Ok did that and now the ETH chart matches your chart and what my laptop shows. Hopefully it will work tomorrow during intraday.

I now have a chart for today but it doesn't update realtime. The only way I can get it to update the chart is to click reload all historical data. <CTRL> <SHFT> <R>

edit to add:
I tried adding Pivot indicator to the chart. Chart is setup to load 5 days. I get a error message:
Error on loading chart data for 'RIFIN Default': Error - HDR: 400 Service Failed getting price history, Reason: Index 0, Size: 0 The system is temporarily unavailable, please try your request again later.

Development has an open support ticket with TDA in regards to that error message you have posted below. We will let you know what TDA responds back with when they do. Thank you for your patience.

I look forward to hearing the response to this error message. I still can't get the intraday data to stream for any of the indexes. I've tried $SPX.X and $RUT.X. And doing <CTRL> <SHFT> <R> constantly resets my strategies that look at the index. Both the laptop and desktop have the same problem of no intraday updates without forcing a reload of the chart.
