    Mail Setup

    I cannot seem to get this to work. Am using your latest beta - 7.0.0.20 - and have tried all the combinations described in the Help files but the platform will not send a mail message. It freezes for 10-20 seconds as if it’s trying to connect, then says that it cannot. I’ve used SMTP servers for both my own hosting account and for Gmail. I’ve disabled my firewall to no avail. This seems like a neat feature and I’d like to be able to use it.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you for your forum post.

    What is the specific error message you get when you attempt this. Have you tried with both SSL unchecked and checked?

    Are you running any firewall software on the computer?

        I thought I had it figured out - guess I didn't. I was able to send the test message, but expected it to send out an email when an alert condition was triggered - it didn't. It sounded the alert, populated the alerts window with the message I created, but didn't send the email. What am I missing?

            Hi,

            I'm not writing any code - just using your standard email alert option ( see attachment). I assume that the platform will send me an email once a defined alert condition is satisfied. Is that correct?

              Hello,

              For a market analyzer to send an email out with an alert it would need to be coded into the indicator. Alerts conditions setup by the alerts condition builder in the market analyzer do not have the ability to send an email only trigger an alert/sound file.

              Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

                  Hello,

                  I have a quite similar problem in live trading: My former beta15 version sended emails always when there was a colored log alert (messages, connection status etc.) but beta19 or beta20 does not anymore.
                  I never coded them by myself. I could not find any setting for that. The test message is sent and I did not find any info in the release notes.

                    Hello,

                    What your most likely reffering to is this:



                    This is specific to NinjaScript strategies that an email will go out on connection loss when you are running a NinjaScript strategy. However obviously if the connection loss is on yor end and not the data feed providers the email will not make it through.

                      Hello Brett,

                      yes, theise kind of messages I do mean. The connection loss is not on my end because NT is running on a VPS. If there would be network problems I would get an alert of the VPS provider. It´s the connection to IB which always gives some connection losses in early morning european hours (which is IB caused). I see the entries in the log tab of NT but there is no email anymore. I also checked my spam-folder.
                      As said it worked with beta15 but not with beta19 or beta20. Has this behaviour changed since then? Could you please check this because its important for me to have the last status of my strategies as email alert?

                        What On Connection loss settings are you using? Please let me know all settings you have configured in Control Center->Tools->Options->Strategies Tab->NinjaScript SubTab-On Connection Loss.

                          My seetings are:
                          Immediately submit live working historical orders
                          Cancel entry orders when a strategy is disabled
                          Cancel exit orders when a strategy is disabled
                          On connection loss Keep Running (10/4/5)

                          Also I´ve set up in the Initialize() section of the script:
                          IgnoreOverFill = true;
                          RealtimeErrorHandling = RealtimeErrorHandling.TakeNoAction;

                              Thank you for your patience.

                              After looking into with development these feature has been dropped due to customer complaints of the OnStatusDisconnect pop up window and has been removed. The documentation has not been updated yet. They are being updated now.

                              For now to add this functionality at this point in time these needs to be coded into your strategy with OnConnectionStatus() to send you an email using SendMail();
