    Blue screen after order execution

    Just had my second genuine blue screen this year (complete PC crash, foto shown below).

    It was triggered by NinjaTrader 7.0.0.20, when a target order (part of OCO) was executed.

    I think that the problem is related to the audio driver, so it might have been created by the voice confirming execution of the order. I have never had any similar problem before, so I cannot comment on it. My PC is a Dell server, all drivers updated as necessary.

    Any ideas, how to avoid this?

    Hello Harry,

    Unfortunately I am not sure how to avoid it. Are you saying that subsequently each time an OCO order is executed and the sound is triggered, it causes the blue screen again?

    I suggest to troubleshoot the blue screen error with Windows. For example, please see the information at the link below to troubleshoot it.

      Blue screen is an indication of a corrupted system. Since NT is .NET (=managed code), it's close to impossible to produce a blue screen by a coding bug (never say never, but you get the idea).

      Also: the blue screen message indicates there is some issue with a driver which would confirm your suspect about your audio driver

        Harry,

        I would disable all sounds in the NT options, as well as any PlaySound / C# equivalent function that plays a sound and see if the problem persists. As you said, its likely related to your audio driver

          I believe that it is not related to NinjaTrader, it is a 1-in-a-million event, cannot reproduce, and it has never happenhed so far. It is sound driver related, so only option would be to switch off the sounds.
