    Problems with 7.0.0.19 phantom orders

    I was just recently in a short 2 car 6e position using chart trader. I had adjusted my stop to b/e w targets of +20pips +30pips. My buy stop at break even was 2 cars and I tried adjusting it to 4 so I could do a stop and reverse. I tried but the buy stop stayed at 2. I then attempted to add a buy stop position, to accomplish the stop and reverse, just above my stop and NT froze.

    I was unable to reconnect to NT for a while and when I came back my short position was closed at target 1 and I was long 9 contracts at the t1 price. I never placed orders for these longs. Luckily it was in my favor but man what a shocker!

    I need help figuring out what went wrong. I've been using 7 live for a while now with no glitch. Now I am afraid to make a trade.

    I have a bunch of rejected orders in my order log. My original trade is doubled up and occur at a later time then the real trade took place. I also have issues where my trade gets placed in my live acct and then in a sim acct called test.

    I dont know what is going on.

    Hello mic.o8o,

    Can you please send me your log and trace files for the day the issue occurred. Please send them to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com, put 'Attn Jason' in the subject header and reference this thread. Include an estimated time of occurrence as well.

    Regarding the orders that get submitted to the sim 'Test' account, could it be you have a shadow strategy selected that submits unexpected orders to this account. Please see the link below for information regarding shadow strategies.


    To check if this could be the case, please right click in the SuperDOM and enable 'Advanced Options'. Make sure 'Shadow' is set to <None> to ensure no shadow strategy is used.

    In addition, we recently released beta version 7.0.0.20. Can you please upgrade to this version. You can download it the following link.

          In the logs for my live acct it says my original short wast at 2:41 edt. The actual time of the short was 2:30 the Test acct shows this. The longs were made at 2:57 during the time I was locked out of NT these orders were never submitted by me.

              Thanks Jason for your help. I now have some erroneous trade entries when I run reporting. It seems as though my original trade was doubled up giving me an incorrect pnl. Is there any way of deleting these entries? When I load 6.5 My pnl for today is correct but on NT7 it is wrong. Also was there a reason for the crash? Thanks for the help.

                You can delete executions for the current day via the Executions-tab. More information canbe found at the link below.


                I checked your trace file, however it did not list any crash or any other error. Unfortunately I am not sure why NinjaTrader froze.

                Generally, if you experience freezing/unresponsiveness of the software, you will need to reduce data/resource request to avoid it and improve performance.

                Check if you are running workspaces in the background (these will request data & resources as well) and close them. Please restart NinjaTrader and go to File-->Workspaces and check what workspaces are listed below 'Save Workspace As'. The workspace with the checkmark is the workspace opened on your monitor. Any additional workspaces listed, are opened in the background. Select a workspace without a checkmark and subsequently go to File-->Workspaces-->Close Workspace. Repeat this process until only one workspace is opened.

                Close some charts, SuperDOM's or other NinjaTrader windows. Reduce the amount of indicators in your chart or set 'Calculate on bar close' to True. Or reduce the amount of historical data in your charts by configuring the Format Data Series window.

                  Ok this happened again. NT has froze and over 1000 live orders were sent out. My broker closed my position but I need to figure out what is happening.

                  I scaled in to a position using ATM strategy. When i did that my first target filled up with 7 cars then T2 1 and T3 1. I adjusted T2 to 3 cars and it was fine. I then I tried to adjust T3 and NT froze. I call my broker and the same issue as before NT/Zen/broker is sending out thousands of live orders that are being rejected.

                  Please help. Back to 6.5 for me?

                    Thanks mic.o8o, using NT 6.5 would not make a difference unfortunately here.

                    Were trading using ChartTrader or having at least a ChartTrader window open on your symbol as this occurred?

                    Would you please send us your complete trace / log folders zipped up using the Help > Mail to Support feature and also please include the approx. time this happend so we can investigate closely.

                        Chart trader was open and I was adjusting my targets. I scaled into a position 3 times with the same ATM strat. This strat has 3 targets. The first target T1 filled up with majority of contracts. I adjusted T2 successfully with the amount of contracts I wanted and it subtracted from T1. I then attempted to do the same with T3 and that is when it crashed. I can not login to my broker any longer with NT 7. I was able to with 6.5.

                        I need to know if this is a NT issue Zen issue or broker issue so I can figure out whats up...
