Chart trader questions

I'm using Chart Trader and I have a couple of questions.

First, can I get rid of the text for the trade entries and exits? I can't see such an option.

Secondly, in IB TWS, I see that the spread varies between 0.00005 and 0.00010 but on the chart trader panel, the difference between the bid and the ask is always twice that. Is it just not updating frequently enough? Is there a configuration I need to change?

Thank you for your post.

To remove the executions on your chart please use the steps I have provided below:

• Right mouse cliick within your chart
• Data Series
• Plot Executions
• Set to "DoNotPlot" or "MarkersOnly"
• Click Ok

The only setting within NinjaTrader to change the quotes being shown is to change to TenthPip or HalfPip. To change this setting please go to Tools->Options-->Data tab-->Quote currencies (FX) in:-->Change to the desired quote-->Click Ok.

Other than this NinjaTrader will display whatever information that is provided through Interactive Brokers API.

Can you please tell me what version of NinjaTrader you currently have installed by going to Help-->About. If you do not have NinjaTrader 7.0.0.20 installed please upgrade at the link I have provided below.

I have beta20 installed & TWS 906.8.

Thanks for the info re showing trade info on the charts.

The Bid and Ask info on the chart though does not seem to tally with what I see in IB TWS. At the moment there's a spread of .0003 on the chart panel and just 0.00005 in IB

Please set Quote Currencies (FX) in: to TenthPip and let me know if the issue persists.

OK, half pip works best. Well tenth pip doesn't let me enter orders with IB, and half pip is what it's meant to be. I did a total de-installation and re-install with beta20, so I lost all my config and forgot to reset it. Mea culpa. Thanks.

another question about the chart. The black price marker in the y axis is presumably showing the 'last', but I'd prefer to have the mid-point between the bid and the ask, but that's not available - or is it?

Unfortunately this option is not available at this time within NinjaTrader however, I will forward this to our development team for future considerations.

I was just thinking about faking it with an indicator that worked out what the mid-point is, when the bid and ask are available - and using Last when the bid and ask aren't available.

Do you know if there's a neat way of scripting that?

I doubt it's feasible, after all I still want candlesticks and they are undoubtedly impossible to chart unless you use the actual instrument, right?

That is correct the instrument would need to be used in order to create the candles.

Another question on this subject: can I do this for the chart displayed in the strategy analyzer results? There seems to be no way that I can change the chart since all the buttons are greyed out. Can I put something in the strategy with ninjascript?

Unfortunately there is not an option to enable/disable the plotting of executions within the Strategy Analyzer chart at this time within NinjaTrader 7 and cannot be coded into your strategy. I will however also forward this to our development team.

thanks. Just to be clearer on the issue, what I would like to do is just remove the labels from the executions, leaving only the icons to display them.

This option to display markers only and remove the text will only be available within your regular chart window at this time.
