Unwanted scaling change from Left to Right

Add an indicator (an oscillator is best) to the primary panel and scale it on the Left.
Then use the DataSeries panel to change the interval type (e.g., from Min to Range).
Ninja changes the scaling of the indicator from Left to Right.

This problem shows best when the indicator has a significaltly different range.
I used the ChaikinOscillator on the 6E.

I don't think Ninja should change the scaling properties of an individual indicator just because I switch from a Minute chart to a Range chart.

    Hi Gary,

    Thank you for your post.

The reason for this is due to the automatic scaling of the indicator, but you can right click on the left y-axis and then choose to set your Oscillator indicator to have a Fixed scaling such that when you change the interval of the chart the indicator scaling will remain the same.

      Ryan,

Changing the scaling to Fixed did not change anything.
      Still same behavior.

        Hi Gary,

Can you please right click on the y-axis and then select Properties and please provide a screenshot of your chart scaling properties, as well as your Chart.

To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CRTL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

          Screen shots

I have attached 4 screen shots
1 - chart after indicator initially added to left scale.
2 - left scaling properties showing 'automatic'
3 - left scaling properties showing 'fixed'
4 - Chart resulting after data series changed from range to minute or vice versa.

            Hi Gary,

            Thank you for those screenshots.

I have attached screenshots of how this should work. I notice your final screenshot has the oscillator indicator applied with right hand scaling, on a minute chart, rather than a range chart.

The First screenshot is my chart with the indicator applied. Then the next screenshot are the Indicator properties followed by a chart when I change the scaling, which duplicates the issue. Then when I right click on the y-axis and make the changes you will see that the final chart is the result with the same indicator scaling on a range chart.

If these settings do not work for scaling of an inidicator can you please send an email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com and include a reference to this forum as well as your log and trace files, and please put ATTN RyanO.
