    NT7 Beta 20 No 64bit version

I upgraded to Beta 20, no 64 bit icon was installed on desktop. Checking the \program files (x86)\ninja trader 7\bin64 folder has no files. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and I have not had any issues with the 64 bit version being installed in the past. Do I need to reinstall?

    Hello TraderJesse,

Yes, could you please clear your browser cache and re-install the latest NinjaTrader 7 version.

Let me know if the issue remains.

Just out of interest, how does the browser cache affect what gets installed.

You've got a serious problem here. 64 Bit Ninja has disappeared from the Beta 20 installation. A full removal and clear of browser cache does not help. The icon is not created on the desktop/startmenu, and the bin64 dir is empty.

        Hello dave1992,

It can cause corruption in the NinjaTrader installation if the browser cache is not cleared.

I have not seen any other similar reports so far. Were there any changes on your PC recently? How did you uninstall NinjaTrader 7?

I suggest to try an uninstall/re-install once more and check if the issue persists. Please see the instructions below - you will lose all saved settings and data this way.

Uninstall NinjaTrader 7 via the Windows Control Panel-->Add/Remove Programs (XP), Programs and Features (Vista).

Delete the (My) Documents-->NinjaTrader 7 folder.

Clear your browser cache and download & install NinjaTrader 7 from the link below.

That doesn't seem likely. Why does that happen? You download a setup file, then once you execute it, what connection does that have to the browser? Do you mean the setup file could be wrong?

Apart from the other one is in this thread? No changes on my PC. I didn't uninstall initially. When I did, I just let the ninja install do it.

Uninstall NinjaTrader 7 via the Windows Control Panel-->Add/Remove Programs (XP), Programs and Features (Vista).

Delete the (My) Documents-->NinjaTrader 7 folder.
This is not really a good solution to the problem. Could I suggest your dev team get a 64 bit windows 7 PC, make it up to date, and then try the simple install? It was just a simple install that did it for me.

          thanks
          Dave

Unfortunately I am not sure regarding the specifics. To ensure NinjaTrader is installed correctly, please clear the browser cache before installing NinjaTrader.

Correct, I have not seen other reports besides the other occurrence this thread.

Ok, so you installed a new beta version on top of the beta version you had installed. Subsequently the 64 bit icon was not there anymore? If so, can you please tell me what beta version you initially had installed.

You could try the following instructions - it will not delete saved settings or data.

Uninstall NinjaTrader 7 via the Windows Control Panel-->Add/Remove Programs (XP), Programs and Features (Vista).

Clear your browser cache and download & install NinjaTrader 7 from the link below.

In addition, we have tested the latest beta version on a Windows 7 64 bit PC but we did not experience this issue.

              That worked, thanks.

It's rather worrying that the uninstall done by the Ninja install is different to the one done by windows. I thought they were supposed to be standardised.

              regards
              Dave

                Good to hear it worked.

I am not sure if I understand your statement. What uninstall procedure do you refer by 'the Ninja install'?

When you uninstall NinjaTrader via the Control Panel, it will not remove your settings which is saved under (My) Documents.

When you've installed beta 20, then you try and install it again, it asks you for repair or uninstall. That's what I mean by the ninja uninstall.

I see. I do not experience this when installing NinjaTrader 7 again on my end, while having NinjaTrader 7 already installed - it will just install NinjaTrader again without uninstalling NinjaTrader.

Do you perhaps have registry/cleaning software on your PC?

No, I don't. Maybe it spotted the fact there was stuff missing.
