    Download Market Replay Data Question

Is there a specific reason why you do not allow downloads of L1 and L2 data when the Record for Market Replay option is checked?

Market replay records the current days data and the Historical data download does not let you download the current days data. I do not see the conflict. This is an anoyance because I have to check that option ...to download the data ...so I would then interrupt the recording of my data for replay for the current day. And I an unable to re-test changes to my strategy using the ACTUAL candle data that was presented on my chart during the day, if i make a bug fix in the strategy. Often, I forget to turn the check-box back on. This is irritating because I then have not recorded my following live sessions... so checking those bug fixes or strategy changes become painful as I have to find specific days that present similar candle/bar setups to the one I modified in my strategy.

I have a slightly different question (although I do agree with the original poster).

My issue is consistency. Market Replay doesn’t seem to consistently download market data. For example, I have successfully downloaded market data for the ES contract for 8/1, 8/2, and 8/3, but it will not download data for 8/4 - 8/9. The status window indicates that it is downloading L1 data for the dates in question, but it doesn’t actually populate the data folders. I have a SIM account running NT 7.0.0.19.

      Have you observed this behavior?

        Hello morpheus,

        Thanks for your post.

I just tested downloading ES 09-10 data for 8/4/2010-8/8/2010 and each date downloaded and played back as I would have expected.

Can you tell me which version of the NinjaTrader 7 beta you're using? (Help > About)

Likewise, please let me know which data connection you're using.

As I mentioned, I have a SIM account running NT 7.0.0.19. Interestingly enough, I was able to download data without connecting to a data feed (this is new behavior I noticed with Beta 19).

            Hi morpheus,

Thanks for double checking the version.

What data provider are you connected to when you're downloading the market replay data is my question.
