buying a new win 7 pc to run nt7 - should i get 64 bit version of WIN7?

Does anyone with experience running NT7 on windows 7 have any advice to offer? I'm trying to decide whether to get the 64 bit or 32 bit version of windows 7. I'm planning to use NT7 with a zen-fire data feed, and I've read that zen-fire does not support windows 7 64 bit version yet.

Is it easy to switch back and forth from 32 bit to 64 bit mode in win 7? Would I need to install two versions on nt7 - one for running in 32 bit for use with the zen-fire feed and another version for running in 64 bit mode? Or could I just install one version of NT7 and switch back and forth from 32 to 64 bit mode as needed?

Or should I run my pc in 64 bit mode and run NT7 inside a 32 bit Virtual Machine?

Or should I just stick with 32 bit windows 7 to avoid compatibility problems and hassles. I would like to use more than 4gb of RAM, but not if it causes a lot of compatibility issues.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

    Hello,

Thank you for your forum post.

There will be no issue with installing NinjaTrader on a 64 bit OS. What happens when you install NinjaTrader on a 64 bit OS is that you will get two icons. One for the 32 bit version and one for the 64 bit version. It is possible to switch between the two very easily The only thing that would need to be reinstalled is any third party indicators that you have installed. So there should be no issue with going ahead and getting the 64 bit PC and running NinjaTrader in 32 bit mode until the Zen fire adapter is compatible in 64 bit mode which will be released after the release of NinjaTrader 7. Once that is done you can switch to the 64 bit version very simply and take advantage of the extra RAM and processing power the 64 bit OS allows.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Thank you. It sounds like there is no reason for me not to get the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
