Possible Chart Trader bug

This morning I placed a trade with chart trader but the take profit was set incorrectly.
In the screenshots you can see the ATM strategy parameters and the order placing/execution in the red rectangle: the take profit was set at the same level of the stop loss, causing the position to close immediately after opening. Note that the OCO field was not set on the stop order, but this order was cancelled immediately after the position close.

I use a TT live connection with Velocity Futures.

Another one

NinjaTrader (chart trader) today duplicated some of the trades on the sim account, while I did them only in the real account. P/L is splitted between sim and real account. When a sim trade closed, P/L of both real and sim were updated. During trades I heard "Stop filled" and "Target filled" several times, while having no open positions... that was a little scaring.

This is obviusly a bug. I didn't change the account in chart trader. The sim trades were by no chance made by me, it was like a hidden strategy was running on the sim account. I don't even ever touched anything about "strategies" on this production machine, which is a brend-new dell with plenty of ram and only ninja trader installed.

The sim trades were done automagically by ninja.

The "Shadow" setting was set to "None" for all ATM strategies.

The only way that the Sim trades can be done automatically by NinjaTrader is if you have a shadow strategy setup.

Please check all of your ATM Strategies as this is set PER ATM strategy. Once this is done and everything is set to none for shadow strategy if you can get this to occur again please let me know and I will contact you via phone to look into this.

Hi Brett,

all the shadow strategies were set no NONE before the problem occurred. I knew it is a per-strategy setting. I carefully reviewed all the settings of all strategies after the problem I reported in message #1 in this thread on 06/27.

The first message in this thread is 07-26-2010 for message #1 and does not mention shadow strategies at all.

Are you possibly referring to another thread?

Do you have a reproducible scenario and this is occurring. If it is occurring I would want to absolutly give you a call and find out whats going on.

Yes I know, but the problem in the first message was also related to chart trader, so back then I double checked all the settings af all the atm strategies, so I'm 120% sure that all shadow strategies were set to none prior of the occurring of this last problem.

After this last second problem, I checked all the settings again, and again all shadow strategies were set to none.

Don't know how to reproduce this, it has to be on live trading, and I certainly won't do live trading only to reproduce a bug. However, in today live trading, the problem didn't occurred so far.

I will look at the trace file to try to find some informations about the error.

I've had this happen to me before when using chart trader. My ATM strategies are set to "none" on shadow trader.

This hasn't happened to me in awhile, but if it happens again, I'll send you my trace file.

I have had Shadow trader options turn on ... magically and had to turn them off...2 and three times and save the template again and again after each restart ..only to have them on again on the next restart .. sooner or later they stay off..

No idea how to reproduce but you are not alone...even though no one will beleive you

And an associate of mine (new ninjatrader user who paid for 3 month license .. experienced this 3 days in a row last week. Needless to say his confidence was not overwhelming.. He asked me what was happening and I assisted him while in the trading chat room..he was worried at first that "extra orders" were being executed so we edited the ATM via gotomeeting and saved it/restarted 3 times ..each time he restarted shadow strategies were on ...)
