    NT crashes, when (not) deleting tick data

    NT 7.0.0.18 - not connected, reproducible.

    I have downloaded some tick data for YM from Kinetick. Whenever I open the Historical Data Manager and try to delete a single day of tick data, NinjaTrader crashes.

    Details: Popup "NinjaTrader has detected a problem and needs to shut down....". The Data Manager does not react anymore, but it can be closed (see screenshot below). The data is not removed.

    Excerpt from trace file below:

    PHP Code:
    2010-07-19 00:08:28:781 ********* exception trapped *********

    Harry, I connected to Kinetick, started a 30 day YM 09-10 tick based chart to download the data, disconnected from Kinetick, went to the HDM, and was successfully able to delete every day of the YM tick data. Is there anything you're doing differently?

      No, this is what I did. I attched the screenshot to my prior post, so you can see my tick data, and the day that I selected. And everytime I tried to delete the data, NinjaTrader crashed.

      So finally I just opened the database and deleted it there, and off and away it was.

      This is just an example of unnnecessary crash. 100% reproducible so far.

        Harry, could you please rar/zip up your My Documents/NinjaTrader 7/db folder and upload it to sendspace.com or an equivalent and send us the download link? We'd like to isolate this issue and to do that we'll have to be able to reproduce the crash. Thank you for your time helping us track this down.

          Sent tracefile and database

          I have reduced the db file to YM 09-10 tick data. I tested it and also produces and reproduces the crashes. So it was sufficiently small and I sent it to support via mail. I also included the tracefile showing the crash. My system time is CET. I use the Globex session template (US Index Futures ETH) for YM.

            Further test

            I have now made a detailed test for NT 7.0.0.18

            - on 2 machines with different workspaces, one machine running on XP the other one on Vista
            - with tick data from Kinetick and Interactive Brokers

            trying to delete the tick data via the Historical Data Manager -> Edit

            For example, I have ES data as follows

            ES 03-10 can be deleted
            ------ Last-> can be deleted
            ------------ Tick -> can be deleted
            ------------------ March 2010 -> can be deleted
            ------------------------ 08.03.2010 -> only this cannot be deleted
            ------------------------------ 17:00 -> can be deleted

            So I can delete tick data hour by hour, and the empty shell of 08.03.2010 will remain. When I try to delete the empty shell, NT throws an out of range exception, the Historical Data Manager hangs and I am asked to shut down NT.

            If I simply close the Historical Data Manager and open it again, the empty shell day will have disappeared.

            There is no problem deleting days of minute data. The only nodes that cannot be deleted are days which contain tick data.

            I use CET and German country settings.

                If it is fixed, here comes another problem

                Did you also fix the problem with the scroll bar?

                When selecting -> Historical Data Manager -> Download, the default list does not appear, but there is a scroll bar, which should not be there (screenshot 1). If you move the scroll bar up and down, the default list suddenly appears (screenshot 2).

                  No, that's still on the list.
