Strategy analyzer Chart tab: saving chart settings then re-loading removes executions

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but when I'm in strategy analyzer using backtesting and I click on the "Chart" tab.. I like to change the plot settings for the indicators used in the strategy (usually from lines to dots, etc..) and I save it by right-clicking "Templates." ..."Save as.."

So, there are two problems in this area: If I re-run the strategy by clicking "Run Backtest", first of all, all my settings revert back to the default for each indicator (as specified in it's ninjascript), which is very annoying, because I had just changed them to my preferred "look"..

BUT THEN, if I try to re-load chart template settings that I had just saved, I am then missing all the trade buy/sell signals that were generated in the price panel #1 by the strategy analyzer. So I have my favorite chart settings, but am missing where all the trades occurred with no apparent way to get them back (If you right-click, the "Data Series" pop-up menu item is disabled, and that is where the settings are to plot executions and/or markers where trades occurred.

Summary: In strategy analyzer on the "Chart" tab, change any line plot in an indicator to dots. Save it as a chart-template. Then click on button to re-run back test. The dots change back to lines immediately. Re-load the chart template - your strategy executions are missing from the price panel #1

chrisflow, anytime you run a backtest, it will spit out a chart generated by all the settings of the backtest. You cannot change those settings because then the chart would not accurately reflect the backtest. If you want to plot with dots from the start, please change the settings in your strategy.

I don't understand how to do this because in the Strategy Wizard there are no areas in which to change plot styles. Do I have to reprogram the actual ninjascripts of each indicator and recompile them? (because each time you click "run backtest" the chart reverts to the plot style as specified in the ninjascript of each indicator)

Also, if I have 5 or 6 indicators in the strategy, I want some of them on top of each other in the same panel, thus why I tried to save it as a chart template setting, for easy reading.

chrisflow, unfortunately this is not currently possible with NinjaTrader.
