Can't edit my strategies in NT7.18

    Can't edit my strategies in NT7.18

    I recently installed NT7.18 on a new machine and imported a .cs with a few strategies and custom (mine) indicators. I can run optimizations with the strategies so I know they are working - and NT said they installed successfully. But when I go to Tools/Edit NinjaScript I cannot see the indicators or strategies to select them. What is wrong?

    gunsnmoney, are the actual .cs files present in the correct folders (My Documents/NinjaTrader 7/bin/custom/strategy and /indicator)?

    Also, from the wording of your post, it seems all the strategies and indicators are in the same .cs file. Is that correct?

      No, they are not in the bin/custom folders but I did find them. I had to take this computer in to IT (its a work computer) for some work (cup of coffee in the keyboard - really, thats another story) and the IT guy now has his own Desktop in my Documents and Setting folder. That is where I found my old Custom/Indicators and Strategy folders. Can I just copy over these files to the NinjaTrader folders? Or should I delete them? Because if the optimization is using my strategies and are working then NT knows where they are and is using them. I can then reload the import.

      Yes, I exported NinjaScript into one zip file. I selected three custom strategies and let NT take the appropriate indicators with it.

        gunsnmoney, yes you can just transfer the files that don't start with @ - those are the system indicators. If I were you, I would just re-import the stuff into the correct /bin/custom folder to be absolutely sure about your indicators. I'm not sure how NT is using those indicators in a non-standard location...

          It worked. I just copied them into the correct folder then moved the original folder somewhere else.

          Moral of story.....don't spill coffee in laptop.
