Workspaces disappear on crash

Why is it that when NT crashes, (and it crashes at least once a day for me), why does the current workspace I was working with dissappear next time I startup NT, and is replaced by an empty workspace named 'Untitled1' ??? All my work on the last workspace are lost. The proper way to program this feature is to operate the current working workspace in a temporary buffer/session, and the settings only get saved to the actual workspace data when the user saves the workspace, or on NT normal shudtown. That way, upon a crash, the actual workspace is not affected. Look at how Mozila Fireoworks recovers you last session on crash, and several other commercial applications. I don't think this should be hard to implement.

Unfortunately, unexpected shut-downs can result in corruptions to existing workspaces.
